San Diego: La Jolla, Coronado, Seaport, Old Town and the Zoo.

Last weekend my friend Rachel invited me to go home with her to San Diego. I'd wanted to go so this was a great opportunity! On the Friday we went to a place called La Jolla which was so beautiful. The weather was perfect and the sea was so pretty. Its a perfect spot!

Shoutout to Rachel! Thanks for a great weekend!

Typical Californian, doing yoga on a cliff:

The colours of the sea were amazing:

Beautiful:

Art museum:

The next day Rachel and her mum took me to Coronado, where Marilyn Monroe filmed 'Some Like It Hot'. There's a famous hotel, where the film was set. It was a really nice little seaside town, reminded me of some back home in England. Oh and I found a scottish shop that sold English food so I managed to get some goodies!

Downtown San Diego:

Hotel del Coronado:

Christmas already:

Marilyn Monroe stood here:

We then went to downtown San Diego and Seaport Village. I loved all the tall buildings downtown, we don't really have many in Long Beach so I miss them. Must be my architect dad's influence! I love taking photos of buildings!

We went to the hat shop at Seaport Village and had fun trying some on!

There was also a Christmas shop, Americans get really into it!

Cool sky:

We then went to Old Town, and it happened to be Dia de Muertos, 'Day of the Dead', a Mexican Holiday. This was a really cool day to go as it was really busy and lots of people were dressed up. There was a great atmosphere!

Skulls and skeletons were everywhere:

People write messages to those they've lost on the road:

Felt like the wild wild west:

I loved the bright colours that were everywhere:

I was overexcited to see a British flag:

Creepy, but really cool:

The graveyard was even decorated:

Heavenly:

On the Sunday we went to San Diego zoo, which I'd heard about before coming to the US. It was a great day and I got some good photos. I especially liked seeing the Panda as I don't think I've seen one before and they are so cute!

Here's a few of my favourite photos that I captured:

We went to Balboa Park which is next to the zoo to eat lunch. Its really pretty and was built for an expo. I really liked taking photos of these buildings, they look so amazing!

I had a great weekend thanks to Rachel and her parents! I really enjoyed seeing another city. This was the first time I'd been away from Long Beach overnight and I have to admit I really missed it, I realised that Long Beach has kind of become my home! I enjoyed getting away, and seeing more of California. We fit a lot into the three days I was there! San Diego is really nice, and I'd definitely recommend visiting!

Next up: Phoenix, the Grand Canyon and Vegas!
